September 24, Equipping Students for the Digital Age at Kpedze High School
This report was written by our project partner and friend Julius Nyerere Tettey. He is a teacher and head librarian at Kpedze Senior High School (KPESCO). In this report, Julius talks about the progress in preparing the two rooms for the new HITA PC Labs.
Steady progress is being made in the development of the two ICT (Information and Communication Technology) laboratories at the KPESCO campus. Currently, approximately 80% of the work on one of the laboratories has been completed. At the current pace, it is projected that by the end of next month, substantial progress will be achieved toward the full completion of both facilities.

The floor has been fixed, the power supply is coming along nicely, the curtains are up, and from the outside, the rooms are nearly complete. 😊
The successful completion of these ICT laboratories is crucial for preparing our students with the digital competencies required to excel in today’s knowledge-driven world. Once operational, the facilities will not only enhance the teaching and learning of ICT but will also serve as hubs for research, innovation, and improved academic excellence across the school.
In this regard, parents, guardians, and other stakeholders are strongly encouraged to continue supporting the school and our partners at HITA (Germany) in this vital initiative. Their commitment and contributions remain indispensable to the timely delivery and long-term success of the project.
Recommendations for Support
- Financial Contributions: Parents and guardians are encouraged to contribute toward the completion and furnishing of the laboratories.
- Provision of Equipment: While HITA has committed to providing computers and related accessories, additional donations of computers, furniture, and other resources will significantly reduce the project’s overall cost.
- Voluntary Services: Technical expertise and professional services from skilled individuals within the community will help accelerate progress.
- Sustained Engagement: Continued collaboration between the school administration, the Parent-Teacher Association, and stakeholders will ensure accountability, transparency, and shared responsibility.

The collective effort of all stakeholders will guarantee that these laboratories are completed on schedule and maintained as a lasting resource for present and future generations of KPESCO students. Together, we can secure a brighter academic future for our children.
A note from HITA e.V.: We, the volunteers of HITA e.V., act according to two core values. First, we encourage helping communities through collaboration – nothing is imposed; we work together across borders with mutual cultural understanding. Second, we strive for transparency. We work hard both in Germany and in Ghana and provide transparent reporting. For example, we showed the preparation and packing of the container scheduled for shipment on October 24, 2025 – see here: https://hita-ev.org/14-09-2025-installations-und-packtag-an-der-carlo-mierendorff-schule/. We will also be on the ground in January 2026 to unpack and install everything together. And reports like this gives you, the reader, a sense of what our project partners in Ghana do. Working together.
Note: This report has been left in the author’s original language. A German translation can easily be made by our readers 😉
