April 03 2025 – Students Lead the Way: Voluntary Cleanup for ICT Laboratory Project
This report was written by our project partner and friend, Freund Julius Nyerere Tettey, teacher and librarian at the Kpedze Senior High School (KPESCO).
On a bright and vibrant day, the students of Kpedze Senior High School (KPESCO) demonstrated remarkable dedication and teamwork by leading a voluntary cleanup to prepare the site for the upcoming ICT Laboratory project. Their efforts reflect the unity, enthusiasm, and sense of responsibility that define the KPESCO spirit.
Through their hard work, these students have not only cleared the space but also laid the foundation-both literally and figuratively-for a transformative project that will equip over 1,200 learners with essential digital skills. The ICT Laboratory will stand as a symbol of progress, innovation, and the power of collective action.
Why This Matters
The ICT Laboratory project, made possible through the HiTA-KPESCO partnership, aims to establish a cutting-edge technology hub to empower students with digital literacy. By volunteering for the cleanup, KPESCO students are actively shaping the future of their school, proving that true change begins with action.
Highlights of the Day

- A Spirit of Joy: The atmosphere was filled with laughter, teamwork, and a shared sense of pride.
- Inspiring Moments: Drawn by the sound of uplifting songs sung by the volunteers, some teachers and staff joined in to encourage the students, reminding them of the significance of their contribution to the school’s development.
