HITA school cooperation between Carlo Mierendorff School (Frankfurt, Germany) and Mawuko Girls' Senior High School (Ho, Ghana)
Together with HITA e.V., the idea of planning a Ghana Action Day was born. Here, used toys are to be collected for children's wards in hospitals, kindergartens and elementary schools. This project will be done again in 2019 in Year 6.
In March, teachers Mrs. Aouad and Mrs. Knott will travel with the association to Ghana to the Springs Preparatory School (kindergarten to 8th grade). They are also visiting three high schools in Ho to establish a school partnership.
Various criteria are applied to decide which school could enter into such cooperation with CMS. The decision comes down to Mawuko Girls' Senior High School. The general conference instructs the colleagues to enter into a cooperation agreement with this school. The school parents' council supports the project.
Due to the constraints and challenges of the Covid pandemic for the two schools, contact will be limited to a few video conferences until summer 2021.
The talks will be resumed and intensified. HITA e.V. and CMS are beginning to revive the partnership. In addition to a fundraising campaign, the concept of the school partnership is presented and further developed in all grades, at the school information day and in the school environment.
