Project goal

The lack of textbooks for students* is to be overcome by providing a virtual library that can be accessed by cell phones.

HITA

Tasks:

1. implementation and deployment of the Mobile Library 2. adaptation of the system architecture to the server architecture on site 3. adaptation of the Mobile Library to the needs of the different users 4. conception and implementation of workshops on the use of the Mobile Library on the different mobile devices 5. coordinating the triage and support of the transfer of curricular instructional content into audio, visual, video, or text-based learning materials. 6. development of a train-the-trainer concept for the training of multipliers and to enable a sustainable continuation. 7. Problemstellung / Ausgangslage:

Das ghanische Gesundheitsministerium unternimmt immense Anstrengungen, um zu den Milleniumszielen beizutragen. Einen hohen Stellenwert nimmt dabei die berufliche Ausbildung des Gesundheitspersonals ein. Eine rapide Erhöhung der Ausbildungszahlen mit bis zu 1000 Schüler_innen je Jahrgang erfordert eine massive Neuanschaffung von Lehrbüchern und anderes Lehrmaterial. Dafür ist oft kein Budget vorhanden.  

Das Projekt:

Das Projekt Mobile Library unterstützt medizinisches Personal und Auszubildende, vor allem Krankenschwestern und Hebammen in ländlichen Gebieten mit Lernressourcen auf deren Mobiltelefonen. Ziel des Projektes ist der Aufbau einer elektronischen Bibliothek (Mobile Library), die Informationen für Auszubildende, Lehrpersonal und medizinisches Personal via Internet und Mobilfunk bereitstellt. So wird eine im ganzen Land leicht erreichbare Informationsquelle aufgebaut, die die regionalen Unterschiede und Ausstattungen der Schul- und Krankenhausbibliotheken ausgleicht und ergänzt. Denn nahezu alle im ländlichen Gesundheitswesen Tätigen besitzen ein Handy oder Smartphone. Deswegen eignen sich die mobilen Endgeräte des medizinischen Personals zum Aus- und Weiterbildungsmedium. Auch wenn die Bibliothek oder Weiterbildungsinstitution der Stadt weit entfernt liegt, stellt die digitale Bibliothek den Zugang zu dringend benötigten Lernmaterialien orts- und zeitunabhängig sicher. Die Mobile Library stellt abhängig vom mobilen Endgerät eine Reihe verschiedener Lernmaterialien bereit.  

Resumée und Ausblick:

Mit diesem Projekt konnte gezeigt werden, wie ein Zugang zu Lernmaterialien über unterschiedliche Endgeräte geschaffen werden kann. Mittels solcher Zugänge kann der Mangel an Lehrmaterial überwunden werden. Schwierig und im Rahmen dieses Pilotversuches nicht final geklärt werden, konnten allgemeine rechtliche und insbesondere lizenzrechtliche Fragestellungen.
