January 1, 2026 – We wish you all a healthy and peaceful 2026!
Dear members, dear friends and supporters of HITA e.V.,
As we begin the new year, we would like to take this opportunity to look back on an exceptionally successful and moving year. We can look back on a year full of commitment, solidarity, and impressive achievements — a year that has impressively demonstrated what we can achieve together as an association.
A very special highlight was our first HITA charity evening in November. Not only was it excellently organized and well attended, but above all, it was an emotional and inspiring event. The evening impressively illustrated what HITA e.V. stands for: social responsibility, mutual support, and the determination to make a positive difference through joint action. The many conversations, encounters, and the great response made this evening an unforgettable moment.
We are equally proud of another outstanding achievement by our association: the installation of over 800 computers in cooperation with the Carlo Mierendorff School (CMS) last year. This number represents much more than just technology. Each individual computer means new opportunities, better educational prospects, social participation, and concrete help in everyday life. The fact that this enormous task could be accomplished is thanks to the tremendous efforts of many dedicated people—from organizing donations to technical preparation to sea freight-safe packaging.
We would also like to express our special thanks to our numerous donors, who have supported our work in many different ways. Thanks to generous donations of PCs, laptops, large screens, network equipment, and even sewing machines for our “SanitaryPads4all” project, we are able to significantly expand our assistance and break new ground. These donations will enable us not only to further promote digital participation, but also to implement very specific, practical projects that open up new perspectives for people. This trust and support are invaluable to our association.
Equally important to us was the financial support provided by small and large donations during our charity evening and far beyond. Without these monetary donations, it would be impossible to maintain our commitment in Ghana.
Your voluntary commitment, your time, your expertise, and your willingness to always lend a hand form the foundation of our association. Whether visible in the foreground or working behind the scenes—every bit of support counts and has contributed significantly to the success of HITA e.V.
We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your commitment. You have shown what is possible when many people work together toward a common goal.
We are now looking forward to the new year with great confidence and motivation. We look forward to tackling new projects together, continuing what has proven successful, and continuing to make a sustainable contribution to our society in the future.
We would like to briefly highlight a few highlights for 2026. In January, we would like to start regular meetings of the Frankfurt “regional group.” This group will meet monthly, or more frequently if necessary, in Frankfurt to work on specific projects. At the suggestion of some members at the general meeting, we will organize a workshop in Frankfurt in the spring with as many members as possible to work together on the direction of the association and other projects. The planned installation trip to Ghana over Easter is of great importance to us. During this trip, we want to install most of the computers that have been prepared in recent years and launch our other projects. We will report on all these and other activities – here on the homepage and via social media.
We and the entire HITA team wish you and your families a healthy, happy, and successful New Year — along with the hope of many more shared successes.
With warm regards,
The Board of HITA e.V.
Hildegard Mackert, Daniel Gerlach, and Thomas Erkert
