Africa's first campus W-LAN
Dear members of the association, dear sponsors, dear supporters and dear donors, but also dear interested and curious people,
First of all, many thanks to all those who are actively, passively or with a donation participate or have already participated in this action. The final preparations are in full swing and we are sending our first container with medical supplies, two complete computer labs and a complete campus W-LAN to Ho in Ghana on February 18. From hospital beds to furnishings, from ultrasound machines to fever thermometers, from bandaging materials to blood glucose meters, we have already received countless donations. Thank you very much for this!
We have also taken a big step forward in the area of our actual objective, namely improving the training of nurses and midwives. With more than 90 computers, we can now equip two computer labs but also some additional positions at the University of Ho. Thank you very much for this as well!
Thomas Erkert also brought back textbooks from his preparatory trip to Ghana, which we will now - once the legal situation has been clarified in our favor - scan in order to offer students the opportunity to access an electronic library via Africa's first campus WLAN using their cell phones. In this way, HITA is helping to address the shortage of textbooks.
